2007 Washington dollar error coin with the smooth edge

This is a first for me. I actually had a debtor last week from FL pay his debt with these coins. The debtor owed $500 and sent me 5 of these coins to sell on ebay for him. He said "whatever I get over the $500 I could keep" and what ever is under we would pay for him. The coins were going for about $84 each when I listed them. To my surprise I got over $386 per coin. $2317 total for a $500 debt plus my collection fee. Not bad for a few hours worth of work. We are always looking for creative ways to get the debtors to pay the bills.

i don't know about the laws in your state but here it is illegal to collect anything more then the actual value of the debt and that if pursued you may be required to return the excess collected...so don't spend it you could still be sued

You are correct but technically I accepted $5 total for this debt. five one dollar coins. It is illegal in most areas to attempt to collect more than the face value of the debt.

WOW!! Great Deal. However, this is no "Puch Moped for an XMen #60". Nice to see your doing well. More "John Luck" with those coins!

    Best Regards,
